Lodging Information
We hope you will enjoy your stay in beautiful Ashland.
We have chosen two accommodations in the Ashland area for your to choose from, both offering a group discount when you mention the Knippel-Jaseau Wedding.
SOU's graduation will be happening on the same day ( in lieu of us planning around this, they then changed the grad date to our wedding date), so please, make your reservations as soon as possible to insure you have a lovely bed to rest upon.

Registry
We are approaching the traditional registry in a new way. Rather than participate in the super-commercialized wedding registry industry, we've chosen to ask our friends and loved ones to support local, sustainable creativity. We thank you for your patience, for this does require a small amount of extra energy. As local artists ourselves, we feel more compelled to support our fellow man, rather than a huge corporation, and hope that our friends and family will consider this when deciding on gifts for our wedding. In addition to some guidance on local products, we will also have more "traditional" registries with companies that we feel comfortable supporting.
We are very thankful to have open-minded people be involved in the celebration of our new life together, and with that we would like to share some information about ourselves that can help inform our family and friends of what would be a very useful and sustainable gift.
* please note - we do not expect gifts, nor do we expect the exact things listed below, but we do see the need to share some of our gift wants so as to make those who wish to buy gifts feel as though they can make an informed choice.
We are "whole food" type people who like to support local food, music and art, and are very utilitarian. With that in mind, our general preferences are:
- purple, green and blue (earth and berry tones) as general house colors
- we like color in the kitchen, especially red for appliances
- like hand-crafted things made from renewable resources in a sustainable way (i.e. pottery, musical furniture, wind chimes, fountains)
Here are some of our thoughts/priorities:
*Community Supported Agriculture (a.k.a CSA)
` we would love to buy organic grass fed meat from a local farmer. We have done this in Eugene and we would love to do it again in Ashland. Typically, one would "buy in" to a farm, and then get x amount of pounds throughout x time period.
`in the most recent case, we paid $300 and got 2 25 pound boxes of mixed meat. Yum! This lasted us about 6-9 months
`other CSAs do local produce and cheeses plus some other things. Usually this is a pay by the season kind of thing, and we would like to look more into this once we have moved back to Ashland.
` Something that we would really love and appreciate, and use every domestic Sunday (among other gathering days) is a good grill! We don't know what exact kind we want, but Mark has mentioned some traits such as propane use, possibly a double grilling shelf, possibly a small burner included. Please call for questions :)
* Extra thoughts:
` compost bin
` BPA free food storage containers
` things to facilitate Domestic Sunday grilling and food preparation
` energy efficient light bulbs
We would like our family and friends to consider purchasing items that are utilitarian, use less packaging and support sustainability.
